Newport (Pembs) Surf Life Saving Club
Clwb Achub Bywyd Arfordir Trefdraeth

(Elusen Gofrestredig: Registered Charity Number: 1059436)

As one of Newport's longest established clubs (est.1970) we have a long and successful record of service to the community. During that period we have rescued in excess of three hundred people with many lives being saved. We have taught, and continue to teach skills to the youth of the community including swimming, first aid, resuscitation and water safety awareness.

Our voluntary service has trained & supplied qualified lifeguards on beaches in Pembrokeshire & Ceredigion and at Crymych and Fishguard pools. Originally housed in a railway carriage, we now have a purpose-built club house on Newport beach.

We continue with weekly training sessions for club members at Crymych pool for the Nippers during the Winter months, and on the beach and with the inshore rescue boat in the Summer. Pool sessions are also provided for Juniors, Seniors & Masters at Fishguard Leisure Centre.

The safety boat service is available to all water sports between Dinas Head and Morfa Head.

We have a full social programme and participate enthusiastically in a variety of local events.

We are a registered charity funded by voluntary contributions and are affiliated to the Surf Life Saving Association of Wales and the Royal Life Saving Society.
